Title: Towards 5G Wireless Communication Networks

Abstract: The forthcoming 5G wireless is expected to provide a platform on which various applications can be implemented: from enhanced mobile broadband, to massive machine type, and ultra reliable low latency communications. Depending on the application, key performance indicators are related to the peak and user experience data rates, network energy efficiency, connectivity density, and latency to mention only a few. To reach the 5G requirements, new technologies have emerged, stirring up significant research in both industry and academia.

This talk will discuss the applications and performance requirements of 5G, enabling technologies, as well as standardization efforts. Additionally, it will provide insights into recent results achieved in our research group, related to non-orthogonal multiple access, full duplex and D2D communications.
